My First Commission Work

This was my first commission work for Ms. Maria.

Ms. Maria is one of my fellow teachers in a school in East Jakarta.
She knew that I loved drawing and she liked my art works.
Ms. Maria asked me to draw her portrait picture on an A3 paper.
She sent me her picture through Blackberry messenger.

I started it by drawing her face with pencils

Then, I thickened the outline with charcoals.

After I finished it, I gave it to her. She was so happy to see the result. She said that she really loved it. Thank you, Ms. Maria :)

Papa and Mama Wedding Anniversary

It was few weeks before my Mom’s and Dad’s wedding anniversary.

I was thinking of giving something special for them, something that will last forever.

Hmmmmm... A wedding picture sounds great!

So, I took their wedding photo. It was very old.

I had to look at twice to recognize the details. Then, I began with 2B pencil.

I thickened the outline with charcoals.

And…  tadaaaaaa… They liked it and put it in their room.

Happy anniversary, Mama and Papa. Really love you both :)

Elysa

This was a request from my friend, Elysa.

She asked me to draw a portrait picture of her on an A3 paper.

I started it by drawing her face with pencils

Then, I thickened it by using charcoals.

She said I had to fix her nose for it looked bigger than it should. :D

Nayara

This was the gift for Nayara’s second birthday.

Nayara is my friend’s daughter. Her mother, Ms. Ika, is my workmate. We've known each other since we were working at the same school in Central Jakarta.

Nayara is so adorable. She has these big eyes which make her looks so cute.

And for her birthday, I would draw a portrait picture of her.

I started it by drawing her face on an A3 paper

Then, I thickened it by using charcoals. And tadaaaa!! This was the result.

Her mother said that she really loved it. They put it in their living room. Happy birthday, Nayara :)

Andreas

This was the gift for Andreas’ first birthday.

Andreas was my boss’ son. His mother, Ms. Jeanne, gave me one set of charcoal pencils and a drawing book for my birthday gifts.

So, on his birthday, I would give him something special. And I thought, a portrait picture of him would be perfect.

Then, I got (read: stole. hehe... sorry Ms. Jeanne  =^_^= I did it for Andreas' birthday gift hehe...) the cute picture of him smiling from his Mom’s display picture or blackberry recent updates

I started it by drawing him on an A3 paper.

Then, I thickened it by using charcoals. And tadaaaa!! This was the result.

The most wonderful part about this was he smiled when I showed him the picture. So cute!!

Happy Birthday, Andreas :)

Ms. Davina and Family

This was a request from my other boss, Ms. Davina.

She asked me to draw her and her family.

I was so excited about it, since it was my first time drawing more than 2 family members (Mommy, Daddy and Son).

So, I started it by drawing the son, Rafael. He has a very cute smile :).

Then, I continued by drawing his Mom, Ms. Davina, and his Dad.

Then, I thickened it by using charcoals. And tadaaaaa!!! She loved it. :D

Andreas and Daddy cc: Ms. Jeanne

It was in 2011 when my boss, Ms. Jeanne, gave me one set of charcoal pencils and a drawing book on my birthday.

She knew that I had so much passion in drawing and doing an art work.

I was so thankful for her and the present.

I planned to give her something in return. So, I got the picture of Ms. Jeanne’s son, Andreas, and her husband, Pak Anto, from her Blackberry display picture (Sorry, Ms. Jeanne, I stole the pic hehe =^_^=)

Andreas was so cute. He was sitting on his Daddy's lap.

So, I took my drawing book and drew the picture by using pencils

Oops, the cheeks were too big (Sorry, Pak Anto :D )

So, I erased some and fixed them

Then, I thickened it by using charcoals.

My first experience of using charcoals was enjoyable.

I was astonished by how they smudged and created the effects of shading.

Charcoals were great for sketching. They were rich and wonderful.

Thank you, Ms. Jeanne, I really love my charcoals

So, after finishing the picture, I gave it to her and she really loved the result. I called it 'Andreas and Daddy'.

And, my journey with charcoals started here

Noy and Husband

Hi!!
This was the picture of me and my husband when we were at Sushi Tei Restaurant in Plaza Indonesia.

It was a great place. They served their sushi on a rotating conveyor belt. It was fun to see how those sushi moved.

Our favourites were salmons. We really enjoyed our meals.

At home, I decided to draw the picture. And I tried to do it with 2B, 5B and 8B pencils.

Here was the result. Haha... I will keep practicing :D

Noy and the Girls 2

Helooo!!

This was the picture of me and my workmates when I was still working at a school in North Jakarta.

The picture was taken in 2011 at Mall Kelapa Gading. We were having lunch together. It was fun meeting and spending time together with them.

After my resignation, I got the idea to draw this picture.
It was quite difficult, since there were lots of faces on the photo.

It's not finished yet :) I still have to thicken the outline with charcoals. Haha...

I'll post again later after I finish it

Thank you for visiting:)

Wall Decoration 1

It was in 2011, I was still working at a school in North Jakarta.

The school was nice and pretty for they required the teachers to embellish the wall with the decoration that fit to the class theme.

I was confused at the first time, until I saw some samples of how the other teachers did it (Thank to Ms. Erma Crishna for explaining about all details to me)

I was going to teach Nursery 2 at that time. The theme was about weather.
So, I decorated my class with the weather theme: sunny, windy and rainy.

This was my sunny day.

I described it with two children who were playing at the beach.

The girl was so cute in her swiming suit made of wrapping paper

The boy, he looked so happy playing with the ball.

I emphasized the view of sunny day with the bright sun near the ceiling.

This was my windy day.

I described it with a whole family who were going on a picnic at the park.

Daddy had mustache on his face. And he was wearing glasses.

Mommy was wearing pink outfits and carrying the baby. Her skirt was going up because of the wind. :D

There were some food and drink on the mat, such as: biscuits, sandwiches and orange juice.
I used real snack packaging for the biscuits. And, I made the sandwiches by using the Styrofoam, crepe papers and flannels. For the orange juice, I painted the real mineral bottle with orange.

To indicate windy day, I made the cloud blew some wind in the air :D.

This was my rainy day

I described it with the raindrops falling from the top.

There were dark clouds on the ceiling which I made by using cartons.

And the water, they were flannels cut out in teardrop shapes. Then, I pasted them on the plastic and hung it on the top.

This was the house.

It was made of styrofoam. I painted it with some attractive colours.

These were the trees  and bushes next to the house. I made them by using cartons, flannels and crepe papers.

And the pond,

It was divided into 3 parts: the water, stones and fish.

I used flannel for the water. And I made the stones by using used newspapers and then wrapped them with brown.

For the fish, I used gold paper plates and flannels (for the scales).

I did this project for about 2 weeks. It was great meeting wonderful people there.

Miss you, teachers :D.
