Pinata for Kimmie's Birthday

It was in February 2012. I was invited to my friend’s daughter’s birthday party in their house. Her name is Kimmie. Kimmie was turning into 5 years old. She really loved watching Angelina Balerina. So, I decided to make an Angelina Balerina piñata for her party.

First, I searched on the internet how Angelina looked like.

(thanks for the picture http://angelinadancestudio.com)

The materials that I used are pink carton, pink shiny paper, glue and tape

I made and cut the pattern for Angelina’s body and face. I also made the cone for her nose to give a 3D look. Then, I filled the nose with sweets before I pasted it on the face.

For the dress, I divided it into two: the upper part or the tank top and the skirt.
I cut the tank top and pasted it on the body.

I joined the front and back patterns by using the tape. But I keep some parts open for putting in the sweets and used papers later.

I cut a long rectangle for her skirt and made it into rimple skirt.

I put the sweets and used papers in the piñata. Then, I closed the open parts by using the tape.

Then, I cut the ballerina shoes with pink shiny papers and paste them on her feet

For the final touch, I cut a long rectangle for her belt and put the flower in the middle.
And tadaaaaaa! The piñata was ready….

Since I didn't come to her party, I decided to give her an extra gift

Happy Birthday, Kimmie!

Kimmie

This was the gift for Kimmie, my friend’s daughter who was having her 5th birthday in February 2012.
I drew her by using 2B, 5B and 8B pencils.

Happy Birthday, Kimmie:)

Noy and Grandpa

This is my second family pencil drawing.

I drew the photograph of my grandpa and me.

It was taken when he was having his 96th birthday party.

He is in heaven now. Happy birthday, Grandpa:).

Noy's First Drawings

I love drawing and painting since I was a kid.

I still remember the old days when I spent papers and paints only to paint leaves and flowers or when my art teacher taught me how to draw the bridge, buildings and airplane.

I was having so much fun playing with the colours.

As I grew older, I had lots of stuffs to do at school and college. So, I forgot about it and stopped drawing.

Until one day in 2011, I had the motivation to draw again. It’s like that it’s in my blood already. I started to draw and sketch with pencils.

I was so excited to do it with pencils and have all the shades. So, I bought the book ‘Being good at drawing with pencils for beginner’ (Jago Gambar pake Pensil dari NOL by Angga Priatna, S.DKV)

Funny thing is I never read what’s inside the book. I was interested in seeing the samples and trying to copy them as best as I could.

About a year ago, after my grandma passed away, I had the urge to draw her photograph with me on an A4 paper.

And I keep practicing ever since
